with Susan Miller- After about 1900, magazines for all audiences employed many artists to create the covers. Trained men and women illustrators often incorporated images of quilts in their paintings. A survey of periodical covers will discuss how well the artists understood quilts, the different meanings the quilts represented, and how the covers reflected the quilt revival of the first part of the twentieth century.
